Lorain Municipal Court Marriage Records
In Ohio, a marriage record documents the particulars of a marriage between two willing parties. A marriage record goes beyond the application and the license. Per Ohio Rev. Code §§ 2101.12(H), 3101.05, 3101.13, the sworn statement of facts, marriage certificate, and associated marriage-index records are also essential components of a complete marriage record. However, to prove that a marriage exists, a copy of the certificate or license is typically sufficient.
The Lorain County Probate Court, rather than the Lorain Municipal Court, handles citywide marriage records. Users can navigate to its dedicated Search Records portal, select Marriage License in the Case Type dropdown, and conduct a name or case number search. The court also offers certified copies of marriage licenses for $1 per record.
